Welcome.

Smiles Included is dedicated to supporting busy parents and kids. We are working on a new website coming Fall '08 that will be part play room, part kitchen table and part bulletin board. It will be a place where parents can meet to discuss parenting issues, challenges and successes. Just as they might sit at the table at home, chatting over a cup of coffee. Children will find stories to read and games to play.

Our intent is to provide content that empowers parents and allows them to connect with their children in fun and meaningful ways.

Elizabeth Warren Joins SI Editorial Staff

SmilesIncluded is happy to announce we’ve added another talented young writer/editor to our staff this week. “Elizabeth is a real catch for us,” says Susan Hustace. “Not only does she have a strong background in Internet editing and writing, she’s also been an educator, with experience teaching special needs children. So she brings a special understanding to the support network we’re building for SmilesIncluded parents, as well as an ability to generate Internet content quickly and accurately.”

Welcome aboard, Elizabeth!

SmilesIncluded is thrilled to add Kathy Murray to our team as Senior Project Manager.

“Kathy has been on our radar for quite some time as a person we wanted to join us at SmilesIncluded. Finally her schedule meshed with ours, and we’re glad she’s on board,” says co-founder Ernest Tarango. “She’s got such a strong background in personnel and customer service, and has been a successful project manager in the past—she’s a real asset for SmilesIncluded.”

Welcome to SmilesIncluded, Ms. Murray!

A Web 3.0 Future for SmilesIncluded

“We are looking into 3.0 technologies which will allow easy access to our content, provide a more personalized experience for our audience, and add value for our advertisers”, says SmilesIncluded Co-Founder, Susan Hustace.

It has been said that the real power of 3.0 will be its ability to create and transfer data effectively. The New York Times calls it “A Web guided by common sense, where there is real value content integrated with video, text, images, and personal interaction on a level that may lead to a kind of artificial intelligence.” Specialized search engines and expert search agents will eventually be able to learn our individual tastes and locate content based on a personality profile. Connecting via mobile devices will become commonplace, with the entire web functioning as a social network/database.

As the online space becomes more user-centric, there will be a shift away from current distribution models, in favor of live streams of specific content, services, and applications. According to Google CEO Eric Schmidt, these fast, customizable applications “…will be able to run on any device, PC or mobile phone, (and will be) distributed virally, literally by social networks, and by email. That’s a very different application model than we’ve ever seen in computing.”

“We have to think 3-5 years down the road when planning our long term business strategies”, says Hustace, “and we believe that implementation of emerging 3.0 technologies will differentiate SmilesIncluded as a cutting edge marketing platform and media portal well into the future.”
